Nigeria: Kanwan Katsina Lauds NDIC For Building Maternity Ward At Kankara Gen. Hosp.

A traditional ruler, Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has commended the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation NDIC for Constructing an ultramodern maternity ward in Kankara General hospital, Katsina State, Northwest of the country.

The traditional ruler made the commendation at the official Commissioning of the 20 bed capacity maternity Ward constructed by the NDIC as part of their corporate social responsibility, CSR.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara called for the training and retraining of health personnel which will go along way in moving the health sector forward in line with the current State Administration agenda.

The traditional ruler commended Governor Dikko Radda Administration for embarking on massive open recruitment of health personnel across the state and advised that casual staff be given preference in the exercise.

The traditional ruler called on the hospital management and the hospital friends committee to effectively maintain the structure and safeguard it against vandalism.

He also called on the NDIC to extend similar gesture to the Ketare Comprehensive Health Center in his domain.

The royal father appealed to the State Government and other corporate organizations and individuals to assist the hospital with more structures and equipment for effective service delivery.

Present at the event were the representative of Governor Dikko Umaru Raddah, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa, General Manager Hospital Service Management Board Dr. Sabi’u Liadi, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Gealth Dr. Ahmed Tijjani Hamza and Permanent Secretary Ministry for Youth and Sports Development Alh. Surajo Mika’ilu. Others include representative of NDIC from Kano Zonal office, Commissioner for Special Duties Hon. Isa Mohammed Musa, representatives of Hospital Friends among others.
