Yuletide: FRSC Deploys Over 1500 Personnel in Kano

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano State Command has announced the deployment of 1,539 personnel for the festive period special patrol operation in the state.

Spokesperson for the Command, Abdullahi Labaran in a statement in Kano, quoted the sector Commander Ibrahim Sallau-Abdullahi, to have highlighted the comprehensive measures undertaken by the corps to ensure road safety during the festive season.

According to the statement, the operation, named “Operation Zero Tolerance to Road Traffic Crashes,” is scheduled to run from December 15th to January 15th, 2024.

“A total of 1,539 personnel, consisting of 1,303 regular Marshals and 236 Special Marshals, will be stationed on major routes to ensure safe and smooth vehicular movement.

“The FRSC has deployed five ambulances, 25 patrol vehicles, one heavy-duty tow truck, and other operational equipment to major routes and highways. This includes the deployment of personnel at station officers in the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State.

“The deployed personnel will focus on critical road junctions, ensuring the free flow of traffic, and providing prompt attention to victims of road traffic crashes.

While urging drivers to avoid traffic offences such as driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, dangerous overtaking, overloading, excessive speeding, lane discipline/route violation, under-age driving, and the use of phones while driving, the sector Commander emphasized the importance of responsible driving and adherence to traffic regulations during the festive period.
