The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume and daughter of the President, Iyaloja Folasade Tinubu-Ojo have condoled the Ambassador at Large to the African Region, International Human Right Commission (IHRC), Dr. Malami Shehu Ma’aji who recently lost his wife, Hajiya Khadijah Malami Shehu during delivery.
The SGF Senator George Akume and his entourage were at the Ambassador’s residence in Abuja to officially condole him over the death.
Among other dignitaries who paid condolence visits and messages, were Minister of Water Resources, Barr. Bello Gwaranyo, Chief of Defence Staff, DG SSS, Brig Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman NDLEA; Permanent Secretary Ministry of Police Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Sani Gwarzo; Former EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu; and Former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu.
Others are Major Hamza Almustapha (rtd), Senator Abu Ibrahim, Buba Galadima, and Professor Yahaya Kuta.

Also there, were the traditional rulers including the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe, Emir of Kagara and Emir of Borgu .
Ambassador Malami Shehu expressed his kind appreciation to the dignitaries who were there physically or sent messages despite their tight schedules.
” I want to use this medium to appreciate you all, particularly the SGF, Daughter of the President, Sultan of Sokoto, Ministers, Senators, Head of Security agencies, traditional leaders and politicians for being with me and my family at this critical time”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador at Large, Dr. Malami Shehu Ma’aji continues to receive condolences and visits from
groups and individuals at his residence at No 1A Usman Danfodio Crescent, Aso rock Villa, Abuja.
Hajiya Khadijah Malami Shehu died on Friday, October 27, 2023, shortly after giving birth to twins, and her burial took place at Unguwar Sarki Burial Ground in Kaduna, in accordance with Islamic rite.
