NLC, TUC Enforce Full Compliance With Nationwide Industrial Action In Kaduna

As the nationwide industrial action enters its second day, the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress TUC lockdown some ministries for non compliance with the strike action in Kaduna State, Northwest of the country .

Early hours of Wednesday, the organized labour went round to lockdown the State Secretariat, Ministry of Health, Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency, Ministry for Local Government Affairs.

Others are, Kaduna Geographic Information Service, Office of the Head of Service, Kaduna State Facilities Management Agency, Obasanjo House among others.

Speaking with newsmen, the Kaduna State Chairman of Trade Union Congress, Comrade Abdullahi Danfulani said the decision was to ensure full compliance of the strike in the State.

Leading the NLC during the lockdown, the Chairman of NLC Young Wing, Comrade Enoch Dodo said, they observed that some of the Ministry, Department and Agencies failed to fully adopt the strike action and they have to ensure those places are locked down.

The Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress Kaduna State Council Comrade Ayuba Suleiman told journalists that Kaduna is a labour state and national directive must be strictly adhered to.

He called on civil servants to comply with the directive in order to protect the interest of the workers and Nigerians.

Commercial banks in the State Capital were closed, but some private schools were seen carrying out their usual activities.
