Appeal Court Affirms Natasha Authentic Winner of Kogi Central Senator Elect

Date:

The Appeal Court in Abuja has upheld the judgment of the Kogi state election petition tribunal sacking Senator Sadiq Ohere and declared Natasha as a senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial district of the state.

The election petition tribunal sitting in Lokoja had declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the winner of the February 25 Kogi Central Senatorial election, but Ohere kicked against.

Delivering the ruling Tuesday, the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the tribunal, declaring Natasha Akpoti as the legitimate representative of Kogi Central.

It held that the appeal of Sadiku-Ohere, challenging the judgment of the tribunal lacked merit.
