Nigeria: Kanwan Katsina Lauds Gov. Radda’s Assistance To Family Of Killed Vigilante Chairman

The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has commended the Katsina State Governor for donating cash of five hundred thousand naira to the family of the chairman of Vigilante group of Tudu Community, Late Alhaji Mati Bahago Tudu who died in the line of duty.

A statement signed by his media aide and Sarkin Labaran Kanwan Katsina, Jamilu Hashimu Gora, has said.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Banditry and IDPs, Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja led other members of the State Government delegation, including the Chairman Kankara Local Government Council, Alhaji Anas Isah Kankara and Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara to present the cash donation to the family of the deceased.

Presenting the donation on behalf of the governor, the Special Assistant said the money was meant to cushion the effect of economic hardship the family might face as a result of the loss of their bread winner.

The statement which quoted the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor as assuring of the Katsina State Government commitment to bringing to an end the menace of Banditry and kidnapping across the state, also condoled with the community of Tudu and family of the deceased over the loss and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

In his response, the Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara described the Late Mati Bahago as a galant vigilante officer who sacrificed his life to protect the community of Tudu in Ketare District.

The Kanwan Katsina thanked the Katsina State government for assisting the family of the deceased with five hundred thousand naira and urged the family to make judicious use of the money.

The traditional ruler called on members of the vigilante group from the area to remain focused and determined to continue to protect their community and not to be deterred by the loss of one of their own.
He also called on people of the area to always maintain peace and order and to always channel their grievances to the relevant authority for necessary action and not to take laws into thier hands.

On his part, the Chairman of Kankara Local Government Council, Alhaji Anas Isah while acknowledging the efforts of the state government in providing the assistance to the family of the deceased, assured of Government political will and determination to end the menace of insecurity across the state.

The occasion also featured prayers for the deceased .
