Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, Northwest Nigeria, has urged the 27 Council Chairmen in the State to focus their commitments on Community Services for sustainable development in their respective councils.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Isah Yusuf Chamo on the occasion of two years anniversary of Dutse Local Govt Council Chairman, Alh Bala Chamo in office, the Governor stated that Jigawa state Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency has trained over 3,000 Youth on skills acquisition in different crafts of their choice, and assured that Government would empower additional five thousand Women in the state.
The state government, he added, has
approved over One hundred and Sixty Seven Million naira for indigene students studying in various Universities in the country.
Furthermore, government received the reports that, over three thousand students at various institutions are yet to register due to the recent high in registration fees.
Earlier in his remarks, Malam Bala Usman Chamo, thanked God Almighty for giving him the wisdom to serve and dedicated the progress recorded to the Jigawa state Government and the entire staff of the Dutse Local Government.
According to him, within the span of two years of his stewardship, he was able to erect 239 impactful projects spanning crucial sectors such as provision of portable water, health, electricity, education, empowerment and rendering social security.
Chamo further said the council within the period under review, granted scholarship to almost 1,552 student’s of the council, while about 1330 youths and women groups have been empowered.
