Nigeria: Work In Synergy With Traditional Institution To Promote Cultural Values – Kanwan Katsina Tasks Media

The Kanwan Katsina, District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has urged the media to work in synergy with the traditional institution for the sustenance of traditional and cultural values.

The traditional ruler gave the advice after he was conferred with the prestigious award of ” Best Royal Father Of The Decade” by a Lagos Based Media organization, FrontLine Reporters .

The Prestigious Award

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara was of the strong belief that synergy between the media and the traditional institutions would promote culture and traditions of the people through informed society.
The traditional ruler pledges continued support for the media and to work diligently to further promote the welfare and prosperity of the people.

A statement by his media aide, the Sarkin Labarun Kanwan Katsina, Jamilu Hashimu Gora and made available to newsmen said Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, expressed gratitude to the Organizers of the event and all those who played roles in bestowing the prestigious honour on him, while commending the Frontline Reporters for finding him worthy of the award.

The statement quoted the management of the media organization as saying that the prestigious Leadership award was presented to the Royal Father in recognition of his exceptional efforts in fostering strong and cordial relationship between the Media and the traditional institutions as well as promoting transparency, cultural heritage and community development.

The FrontLine Reporters, the statement emphasized, describes Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara as a former Public Relations Officer, PRO of the Nigeria Customs Service and now a traditional ruler who has exhibited remarkable dedication to upholding the traditions and values of Ketare Royal Heritage by embracing the power of the media to connect with the wider public.

FrontLine Reporters acknowledged the efforts of Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, a retired Comptroller of Customs, for using the media to enhance and forster customs and traditions of the region and the pivotal role they play in the society, the statement added.
The media organization noted the commitments of the monarch towards promoting unity and cultural diversity which has significantly contributed to the development and progress of the region through engaging with the media to highlight challenges and aspirations of Ketare District in Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria and enabling relevant stakeholders to profer solutions and initiate positive change.

The Award which was presented to Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara at a glittering ceremony held at Welcome Center International Hotels Lagos was attended by distinguished personalities, community leaders, media gurus, friends and other well wishers to acknowledge the awardee’s achievements .
