Contributory Health Care: Nine Thousand Vulnerable Benefitted In Gumel Jigawa, Nigeria

About nine thousand Vulnerable are said to have benefitted from the state and federal governments basic health care provision fund in Gumel local government area of Jigawa State.

The Director programs, Jigawa Contributory Health care Management Agency, Dr Mahmud Abdulwahab made this known when he led a team of the agency on a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gumel, His Highness, Ahmed Mahmoud Gumel at his palace.

He said the program started three years ago with 160 vulnerable who were drawn from 42 wards of the four local government areas of the emirate, namely Gumel Sule- Tankarkar, Gagarawa, and Maigatari LGA’S.

Dr Mahmud stated that soon additional of 110 vulnerable in each ward will be registered.

He solicits the support of all and sundry including traditional rulers in achieving the desired objectives.

According to him this program was initiated purposely to improve community health , as well as to acquire access to affordable health facility for a sustainable living and therefore called on beneficiaries of the scheme to make good use of the support rendered to them.

Responding, the Emir, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani said aged persons and children are dying of preventable diseases due to lack of awareness on the program.

He pledged to organize a sensitization tour on the programs within the Emirate to increase awareness on the community to embrace the program.
