Nigeria Police Threaten to Declare 16 Thugs In Kano Wanted if…

The Kano State Police Command has threatened to declare 16 thugs wanted if they failed to report themselves to the Command.

Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, said they are inviting them for their own interest and failure to turn themselves in for proper dialogue, the police will declare them wanted and go after them to fish them out from their hideouts.

The Commissioner stated this on Thursday while parading 108 suspected criminals arrested within the state in the last three weeks.

He gave their names as; Burakita of Dorayi Karama quarters, Messi of Kan Tudun Dala, Dan Boss of Dala Makabarta, Ado Runtu of Tudun Fulani, Bachirawa quarters, Baffa killer of Mazaunnar Tanko Quarters, Kamilu Duna of Afakawa qtrs., Chile Mai Doki of Tudun Fulani, Bachirawa Qtrs., Uzaifa of Unguwar Yola qtrs., and Bahago of Makabarta Kuka Bulukiya qtrs.

Others include, Nazifi Nanaso of Zango qtrs., Sharu Gambo of Sharifai qtrs., Sharu Ali of Sharifai qtrs., Ma’aruf Goma of Hanga qtrs, Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu qtrs, Nasiru Naso of Kofar Wambai Qtrs. and Zubairu Mai Dala of Yalwa qtrs Dala.

According to the Commissioner, they are aware that some of the thugs are tired of their act and want to repent, hence he is calling on them to use this opportunity to come and register themselves for an opportunity to be reformed as they are open to facilitate the process.

The menace of thuggery and gang violence is becoming worrisome in Kano state as many youths under the guise of Yan daba gang up to terrorise some communities which is threatening the prevailing peace in the state.

Recently the Kano State House of Assembly adopted a motion to end gang violence, thuggery, and criminal activities before it would escalate calling on the attention of the Police and the governor to take urgent step to arrest the situation.

Earlier in the week, there was an alleged report on social media that, thugs killed a police officer but the Commissioner of Police debunked the report, saying, the officer sustained injuries and has recovered but five arrest have been made on that regard.

While thanking members of the public for their usual support and cooperation with the Police, Gumel also solicited the cooperation of ward heads where the suspects are located to help in identifying the thugs.

Some of the suspects paraded before newsmen includes; 24 armed robbery suspects, three kidnappers, two suspected drug dealers, nine suspected thieves, two vehicle thieves, three Tricycle thieves, three motorcycle thieves, 57 suspected thugs(Yan daba), five suspected fraudsters.

Items recovered include; two double barrel guns (one Makarov pistol and two locally made pistol), 29 live ammunition and 12 cartridges, six motor vehicles, four tricyles and two motor cycles, 11 mobile phones, 36 ATM Cards, 53 forged KAROTA letters of appointment, 20 sharp knives and 36 cutlasses, 12 solar panels, and 167 suspected diazepam drugs among others.
