Nigeria: Jigawa Gov. Charges Newly Sworn In Commissioners To Live Above Board

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, Northwest Nigeria, has urged newly sworn-in commissioners to live above board to discharge their duties.

Speaking shortly after the swearing-in, Gov.  Namadi reminded the Commissioners that their appointments were strictly on merit going by their track records in public service, expertise and public exposure. “You’re therefore expected to offer an excellent service delivery and live above board”, he emphasized.

Those sworn in were Awwalu D. Sankara, Special Duty, Engineer Gambo Shuaibu Works, Aminu AK, Commerce, Hadiza AbdulWahab, Women Affairs, and Social Development.

Others were Professor Hannatu Sabo Finance, Ibrahim Babangida Umar Budget, Hannun Giwa Water Resources, Dr. Chamo Higher Education, Dr. Lawal Danzomo, Basic Education, and Dr. Abdullahi Kainuwa Health.

The rest were Col. Muhd Alhassan (rtd), Land, Muntaka Namadi Agriculture, Dr Nura Dandoka Environment, Sagir Musa Information, and Musa Adamu Aliyu, Justice.
