Security Operatives In Jigawa Discovered Local Arms Factory, Apprehend Suspect

Department of State Services (DSS), Jigawa Command has raided a blacksmith workshop specialized in manufacturing and fabricating firearms at Garin Gabas Market in Malam Madori LGA of the State.

The suspect, One Alassan Sabo Garba has been arrested and handed over to the jigawa state Police Command for further interrogations.

Exhibits recovered during the raid include three (3) locally fabricated pistols, six (6) finished and semi-finished Dane guns, one (1) park of twenty-four (24) arrows, two (2) ATM Cards (Opay and FBN), four Gigabytes (4GB) memory card, one (1) fingerprint scanner (Zinox), four (4) pieces of cigarette.

Others are one (1) electric heater (burmax), and two (2) hacksaws.

Nineteen (19) pieces of knives, two (2) I.D Cards bearing Sani Alhassan and Sanu Hassan Garba, one (1) black-facing cap, Stirrer, Knife sharpener, Nokia keypad cell phone with two (2) Sim cards, one knife holder, and two thousand and fifty Naira N2,050.00).
The suspect, according to the security operatives, was strongly believed to have been supplying hoodlums with such weapons in carrying out their nefarious activities.

On interrogation, the suspects said that the workshop was established about two months back, and that his younger brother Haladu now at large, was the one fabricating the locally weapons, while he was responsible for their disposal. He mentioned seven persons, names withheld, to have had purchased such locally made pistols.

Police say efforts would not be spared to apprehend all the persons mentioned for interrogation and possible prosecution.

Another reports say some unknown persons recently broke into the official residence of the District Head, Kanya Babba town, Babura LGA, and stole away items that were to be handed over by the State Government. The items included sixteen (16) ceiling fans, fourteen (14) window glasses, three (3) doors, three electric lamps, two (2) mats.
