Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has charged a 28 member Committee on review of the State and local governments contributory pension board to ensure transparency,and adherence to financial prudence in managing pension fund.
This is to ensure equity and just amongst beneficiaries.
Speaking while inuagurating the committee at the Government House Dutse through his deputy Engineer Aminu Yusuf, the Governor the committee’s role was to ensure effective administration of pension fund to pensioners in line with the stipulated guidelines establishing the pension funds.
” I urged you to be steadfast in your onerous task in fixing the pension administration steadly, identify areas of conflicts where necessary, and advise the government appropriately”.
The Committee is headed by the former Head of Service, and a traditional title holder of Wannan Dutse, Alh. Mustapha Aminu, while the Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila will serve as the Co- Chairman.
Members of the committee include Muhammad Shu’aibu Kiri, Former Executive Secretaries of the Contributory Pension Scheme, Hashimu Ahmad Fagam and the current Executive Secretary of the board, Kamilu Aliyu Musa.
Others are Muhammad Dagaceri, Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Admin and Finance SSG’s office, Nuhu Haruna Permanent Secretary Directorate of Establishment, office of the Head of Service as well as representatives of the Ministry of Justice, NLC, TUC and NULGE.
Responding, the Committee Chairman, Alh. Mustapha Aminu assured of the Committee’s determination to strengthen the operations of the State’s pension administration for equity, fairness and just to pensioners and the state civil servants.
” We will do our best in this onerous assignments as most of us are beneficiaries of the State’s pension scheme”, Aminu said.
