Jigawa State Government in northern Nigeria has distributed ATM and ID Cards to registered beneficiaries of its second batch of Maternal and Child Care Cash Transfer Programme drawn from 287 political Ward’s of the state.
The beneficiaries, pregnant women and lactating mothers, were individuals whose names were captured in the data documents of the coordinating offices of the programme in Dutse.
Speaking at the flagging of the Program, the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hajia Yalwa Da’u, reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to reducing malnutrition scourge and poverty alleviation in the state.
Hajia Dau said, government had provided different intervention programs to address the needs of vulnerable groups in the state.
According to her, the success recorded during the first batch of the program warranted the approval of the second batch in making more people to benefit from the program
In his address, Chairman of Kiyawa local government area, Nasiru Ahmed, commended the effort of the state government for introducing the program.
He urged the beneficiaries to adhere to the guiding conditions for proper utilization of the funds
In a remark, Acting Executive Secretary, Rehabilitation Board, Mallam Garba Ibrahim Suleiman, charged stakeholders and beneficiaries to forward all grievances to the appropriate authority.
