The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has organized a two day emergency training and demonstration of climate resilience practices in rice production to farmers in Jigawa state and donated relief materials to farmers affected by flood last year.
Speaking at the occasion in Dutse, representative of the Director Extension Services, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Saro Bulus, said the event was organized purposely to introduce new farming techniques and climate resilience practices to farmers in the state.
In a message, the Managing Director Jigawa state Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (JARDA), Alhaji Imamu Muhammad represented by Alhaji Yusuf Shehu commended the federal ministry of agriculture for organizing the workshop and reaffirmed JARDA commitment to boosting agriculture.
In a presentation, One of the resource persons, Dr. Bashir Mukhtar from the Federal University Dutse, said the training would go a long way in imparting new farming techniques to the participants.
On his part, the State Director, Green House Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Dr Mustapha Anka said the training will help farmers in Jigawa state and the neighboring states to boost their production.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, chairman Wheat Farmers Association Jigawa state branch, Alhaji Mujitafha Ubayi Ringim thanked the organizers for their initiative and urged participants to make good use of the training to boost their production.
Some of the participants expressed their appreciation and assured of putting into practice what they learned during the training workshop.
