Following a progressive engagement with global youth leaders during the 7th edition of the International Youth Conference, Generation Next Voice of Youth, GNVOY with support from its partners has launched the application process for IYC 8.
The organization via its website indicates that this edition will be a face-to-face event assembling young leaders in New York City, USA from September 21-24, 2023 coinciding with the United Nations High-Level Week.
They encouraged young potential leaders globally from diverse backgrounds, regions and perspectives to take advantage of the process as it will be held under the theme “Empowering Youth to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals: From Discussion to Innovation, Inclusion, and Action”.
GNVOY added that the International Youth Conference 8 will also be closely linked with the 2023 SDG Summit, providing a platform for young people to discuss the progress made towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and exploring ways young people can contribute to such effort.
They further informed that the conference is intended to build up capacities and will empower youths with the necessary resources to play an active role in making the world a better place through highlighting key issues such as; environmental protection, peace-building, youth engagement in politics and policy-making, countering violent extremism, accessible technology, AI for inclusion, equitable access to education, economic development, inclusion, gender equality, health, children’s rights, mental health and drug abuse prevention.
Generation Next Voice of Youth disclosed that the upcoming event is proudly supported by UN-Habitat, AFS Intercultural Programs, the Civil Society of the UN Department of Global Communications and other civil society organizations.
The institution urged global youth leaders to visit their website internationalyouthconference.org or Generation Next Voice of Youth on social media (Facebook, IG and Twitter) in order to apply for the conference.
It can be recalled that the 7th Edition of the International Youth Conference held from 27th-30th April 2023, reached at least global audience of 654,268 people through various platforms, with 8,400 individuals registering for the event. Additionally, there were 1.9 million engagements and impressions generated online across multiple social media platforms.
The conference featured 84 speakers who participated in 30 sessions and was held in Palo Alto and San Francisco, which are well-known hubs for technology and innovation.
With such a welcoming outcome from the previous event, Generation Next Voice of Youth has embarked on early application process for the 8th edition in order to give more participants worldwide the opportunity to grace the conference live in New York City, USA from September 21-24, 2023.
