May Day: Lift Ban On Employment To Address Shortage Of Manpower– Jigawa NLC

The Jigawa State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, ( NLC) has called on the State government to lift the ban on employment to pave way in addressing shortage of manpower bedeviling the state.

The Chairman, Comrade Sunusi Alhassan Maigatari who stated in his speech during May Day Celebration held at Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse, the State capital urged
Governor Badaru Abubakar to employ more workers to fill vacancies in the various MDA’s.

He also called on the governor to increase workers allowances including transport with a view to reducing corruption within the civil service .

Alhassan also stressed the need for the Governor to permanent the appointment of teaching staff in order to boost education sector in the state.

Responding, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar expressed gratitude to the workers for their hardwork and solidarity in lifting the State to the next level of development.

He noted that the workers always sacrificed their time and energy in moving the state forward in their various ministries departments and agencies (MDA’s) as well as companies and CSOs.

The governor asked the workers to forgive his shortcomings during his administration.
adding that without their sacrifice and dedication, his administration wouldn’t have recorded success.

Badaru promised to handover the NLC’s demand to the governor-elect Namadi Umar Alhaji.
