Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has held a meeting with the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on flight
In a statement by the Commissioner Special Duties to the Governor, Alh. Awwal Sankara said the discussion between the duo revolved around the development of the northern part of the country and ways to overcome the security challenges plaguing the nation.
It further stated that Governor Abubakar also stressed the need for more development in the northern part of the country as well as improved security measures in the country as a whole.
He expressed concern over the rising insecurity and the devastating impact it has had on the lives and livelihoods of people in the country.
The President-elect, Tinubu on his part, commended the Governor for his commitment to the development of Jigawa State and the northern region.
He also acknowledged the security challenges facing the country and promised to take urgent steps to address them.
The meeting between Governor Abubakar and President-elect Tinubu, according to the statement, has been widely praised by many Nigerians adding that such meetings and discussions are necessary for the development and progress of the country.
“It is expected that more meetings and discussions will be held in the coming weeks and months as the President-elect prepares to take office. Nigerians are hopeful that the incoming administration will take bold steps to address the many challenges facing the country and bring about the much-needed change”, the statement concludes.
