Nigeria: Kanwan Katsina Congratulates New State Excos Of NUJ, NAWOJ

The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has congratulated the newly inaugurated executives of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Katsina State Council and the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, State chapter

The NUJ Council is headed by Comrade Hassan Tukur Dan Ali, while NAWOJ has Hajia Hannatu Mohammed as the Chairperson.

In the Congratulatory message made available to newsmen, the Kanwan Katsina who is also the Grand Patron of the NUJ KTTV Chapel, noted that the inauguration of the state executives to serve for another tenure of three years is a clear testimony of achievements, dedication and selfless service as well as the confidence the working journalists reposed in the leaders.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara commended the NUJ for the construction of sporting complex, renovation and rehabilitation of the its Secretariat and other laudable projects and programs aimed at improving the working condition of journalists in the State.

While assuring continued support and collaboration between his office and the members of the NUJ, the monarch urged them to continue the good works and utilize the available space at the Secretariat to construct chalets for commercial purpose to improve revenue generation.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara who was the Royal Father of the Day at the inauguration ceremony, called on working journalists to always balance their stories to avoid spreading fake news especially in the era of social media.

The occasion had in attendance, the wife of the Katsina State Governor Elect, Hajia Zulaihatu Dikko Radda as the special guest of honour, marking her first public function.
