The National Association of Katsina State Students, Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter, North West Nigeria, has presented an award of excellence to Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara for his contribution towards the growth and development of the association.
The students’ National President, Comrade Ahmad Saulawa at the award presentation at the Monarch’s palace, said the award represents his service to humanity, particularly the students.

Comrade Ahmad Saulawa a final year student of the Kaduna Polytechnic informed the awardee that the honour was on merit considering the contributions and support for the development of the Association.
He said the association also passed a vote of confidence on the traditional leader Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, describing him as an achiever and patriotic citizen whose impact was being felt across board without any form of bias.

Receiving the award, the Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara urged the students to shun drug abuse, cultism or associating with bad friends who might influence them into bad habits that would distract them from their educational pursuits.
He further urged them to take their education serious describing it as the bedrock of the society.
The Kanwan Katsina recalled with nostalgia his students Union activities in his university days when he served as the Secretary General of the Kaduna State Students Union of the Ahmadu Bello University in 1980 and urged the exco members to ensure unity among the students.
The traditional ruler explained that the award will spur him to work harder for his communities in Ketare district by ensuring more development in the district and also assured the students of his continued support at all times.
The President also presented some copies of the Association’s magazinet o the monarch.
