By Mulenga Banda in Lusaka

Zambian President, Hakainde Hichilema has said that a happy nation is a progressive nation .

The President made the remark at the
Copperbelt University where students welcomed him with chants of Zangena! Zangena! And Wamano! Wamano! during a visit.

He observed that the students’ reactions gave him an impetus to work for the people of Zambia . ” For the CBU, we say, we are humbled by your reception.

“Our response is simple: We value education. Education is the best equaliser, and therefore, free education and reinstatement of the meal allowances, which were unjustly scrapped off, is an indication of how determined we are to make Zambia better.

“Thank you to all universities and colleges students for your continued support.

“We are in this together, and YES, together we are making Zambia better for all, the President concludes.
