Liberia: Sirleaf Reacts To Gruesome Murder of former Chief Justice’s Daughter, …Says Killing Abhorrent

Date:

Africa’s first democratically elected female president, Sirleaf, has described as abhorrent the recent attacks on Cllr. Gloria Musu-Scott which left the daughter of the renowned former Liberian Chief Justice gruesomely murdered.

As a champion of women rights and equality who, even after serving her country as Liberia’s first female president, Sirleaf continues to advocate for women’s representation on the continent and globally, and is now calling on all Liberians to condemn the actions against Cllr. Scott.

“The recent attacks on Cllr Gloria Musu-Scott, and the killing of innocent civilians in Liberia, including Ms Scott’s daughter, are abhorrent. We must all condemn these actions, men and women alike; they have no place in our society,” former President Sirleaf lamented in a Twitter post last week.

Africa Prime News reports that the Montserrado County District #17 Virginia residence of former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott was attacked by unknown persons on February 22, 2023, which left her daughter, Charloe Musu gruesomely murdered and another female victim seriously injured.

The attack on Justice Scott is causing grievous unease amongst the populace, as Liberians are now wondering about their own security, when in fact the home of a statesperson could be attacked, without the culprits being caught, although the police has accordingly launched an investigation into the matter, those who spoke to Africa Prime News express fears.
