Nigeria Elections: El-rufai Worries Over Voter Apathy, Snatch Of BVAS Machine In Kaduna

Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-rufai, has expressed concerned over voter apathy in the state, especially among women.

The Governor, while waiting to cast his vote, urged the electorate to come out en-mass to exercise their right by voting candidates of their choice.

El-rufai who waited for hours on the queue to cast his vote disclosed this at PU 024 ward 7 Unguwar Sarki, Kaduna, where he said that there were reported cases of Biomodel Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in the state.

El-rufai who commended INEC for adequate preparations, added that police are investigating the incidents.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife Aisha cast their votes in Daura, Katsina State, amidst enthusiastic voters.

At the polling unit, the President was assisted by his wife and others in the process of thumb printing.

After the thumb printing, President Buhari openly displayed the ballot papers to the enthusiastic voters before casting.

Speaking with newsmen shortly, President Buhari said he had never hidden support for his favourite candidate during campaigns in States.
He lauded the electronic system of voting.
