Troika Member Summit: President Hichilema Leaves For Namibia

President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia has left for Namibia to attend an emergency Extraordinary Summit of the Troika of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security.

He will join other two Troika members, Namibia and South Africa in his capacity as Incoming /Deputy Chair of the Organ.

The summit, which has been convened by His Excellency Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia and Chair of the Organ, is expected to deliberate on the prevailing political and security situation in the region, among other key issues.

“As we pursue a robust economic transformation, it is important to underscore Zambia’s commitment to peace and security.

“Without peace and security, there can be no meaningful development” he remarked.
