The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, Kaduna State has commenced the implementation of safe spaces in 19 Schools for the delivery of life skills training.
Sani Aliyu, the Component Lead Digital Skills for the Kaduna AGILE Project said over 7,000 girls are expected to benefit from the intervention in year 1
He said the training will be delivered in 71 Schools across Kaduna State for SS1 and SS2 classes.
According to him, the training will cover four main modules of life skills which include Life skills key topics (conflict resolution, self-determination, confidence, negotiations and leadership);
Health awareness (e.g., basic health promotion, nutrition, reproductive health, basic hygiene, menstrual hygiene management [MHM];
GBV/SEA/SH awareness, mitigation and response, including safe reporting channels in the school and community and linkages to a referral system for quality support services; and Climate change (including awareness-raising and climate change adaptation approaches and skills).
