The Peoples Democratic Party Gubernatorial Candidate for Kaduna State in next year’s election, Isah Ashiru Wednesday unveiled a five point agenda that would restore hope
and dignity for the people.

The Agenda covers Security, Agriculture, Health as well as Youth and Women Development.

At a parley organized for political party candidates by the Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Wednesday, Ashiru gave details on how he would go about the agenda to bring growth and development as well as succour to the people, if elected .

He noted with serious concern, the deteriorating security situation which has brought sleepless nights to the people as well as the divisiveness and suspicion among the diverse ethnic groups in the State.

The PDP Gubernatorial flag bearer said poverty and unemployment coupled with the unwarranted retrenchment of workers with unpaid entitlement, could be seen as pronouncement of death sentence to compound the insecurity situation in the State.

He said under Agriculture which is the largest employer of labour, peasant farmers would be made to go back to farm and be supported with farm inputs while subsidy on fertilizer would be restored.

Ashiru promised that most of the abandoned agricultural agencies will be revived towards attracting foreign grants .

While promising to establish diagnostic  hospitals in each of the 3 senatorial zones in the State under health, Ashiru noted that most of the existing hospitals were mare structures that should have been equiped.

The Gubernatorial Candidate said with over 9 million population, Kaduna has less than 200 medical doctors as against the universal standard ratio of 1 to 600 people.

On education, the PDP flag bearer, promised to introduce skilled based education to produce employable products, especially artisans.

Ashiru promised to set up a committee to review the increase in tuition fees at the State University to affordable level to curb drop outs.

While pledging to create a level playing ground for all the candidates, the NUJ State Council Chairman, Hajia Asmau Halilu in her address of welcome, assured the Gubernatorial hopeful and his campaign team, that members would be committed to doing the needful.

The PDP flag bearer is the first Gubernatorial Candidate in the State to appear at the Parley.
