Following the commencement of the implementation of the Rise Up Project by the Family Health Advocates in Nigeria Initiative, FHANI, a One day training was held on Thursday in Kaduna for the implementation team drawn from FHANI
The 12 months advocacy project is for the formulation and adoption of e- learning policy and implementation framework in public secondary schools in Kaduna State and to be piloted in 5 LGAs mostly affected by insecurity.

Giving an overview on the project, the Rise Up Leader of 2022 cohor, Grace Yila Maikano explained in details what gave rise to the need for the formulation and adoption of e-learning policy in Kaduna state.
She stated that there are over 2,5238,000 out of schools children in the state as a result of banditry and insecurity in which over 500,000 are girls between the ages of 10 and 18years.
“When this e=learning policy is formed and adopted, it will help the out of schools children to still have access to learning platforms and education outside the physical class rooms”‘ she said.
She said it was heartwarming to note that the State is blessed with an ICT driven governor’ who would welcome the policy for the State.
“It will be wise to table this matter with the sitting governor because he has much knowledge on technology which is being applied in governance”.
.Lauding the efforts of the Lead with total commitment towards achieving the objectives of the project in the State, the team planned to work in collaboration with some CSOs working on related project.
” It will be good to ally with them and see if there can be some form of collaborations or leverage ” the team resolves.
On her part, Rise Up Fellow and Consultant, Joy Gadani who gave an overview for girls described Rise Up as a global network of leaders who see a future with girls and women thriving in a more just and adequatable world.
The leaders, she emphasized, believe in the power of girls and women to drive exponential.
She said with a focus on advocacy, innovation and individual leadership development, Rise Up enables visionary local leaders to strengthen their organizations, lead change in their communities and advance national level impact through improved law, programmes implementation and budget provision among others.
With the theme for the 2022 “Advocacy & Leadership” Gadani disclosed that there are currently 24 Rise Up leaders working on various projects in Kaduna and Nassarawa states..
The leaders, she emphasized, will engage government, CSOs, community gate keepers, opinion leaders, media among others towards achieving their project objectives in improving the lives of women and girls.
Earlier, FHANI Chairman, Alhaji Bala Mohammad Tijjani commended the effort of the Rise up leader, Grace Maikano for pulling through the rigorous training and securing the funding for the project to be executed by the organization.
