JAP Visits Polio Survivors, Observes 2022 World Polio Day In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Coordinator of Journalists Initiatives Against Polio, Mallam Lawal Dogara says inclusion of affected persons in the implementation of Polio immunization has created visible significance in the elimination of Polio in the country.

Mallam Dogara who stated while speaking on the world Polio Day during a visit to Polio Survivors in Kaduna, however noted that the battle for polio eradication is not yet over.

He therefore appealed to Parents to always trust government programs and abide by policies directed towards improving Health of citizens and tackling diseases especially Covid19.

Mallam Lawal Dogara commended Chairman of the Kaduna State Polio Survivors, Mallam Rilwan Abdullahi who was crippled by the polio virus since Forty Seven Years ago for his resilient and prayed that no child should ever experience such in the future.

Responding, the State Chairman Of Polio Survivors, Mallam Rilwan Mohammed Abdullahi , said the International Polio Day was to remember victims and give them a sense of belonging in society.

He said the Day accords them the opportunity to play a novelty football match and also relate with themselves including many prominent Nigerians.

Also speaking, another Polio Survivor, Mallam Suleiman Abdulhazeez was astonished and sobered of the myths and notion that polio was caused by some evil forces but it took the effort of media and experts to change such notion.
Mallam Suleiman Abdulhazeez appealed for continuous campaign and sensitization on issues of polio and other deadly diseases in the country.
