A 3-day Advocacy and Media Engagement Workshop is underway in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria with
participants drawn from NAWOJ, NUJ, NCWS, Equal Access Peace Promotion Fellows and local government officials from Kano and Kaduna States.
The workshop which was organised by Equal Access International is aimed at training the participants on Advocacy and Media Engagement to equip them with grassroots lobbying and Advocacy.
Addressing the opening, the Country Director, Equal Access International, Mr Maaji Peters who spoke on the aims of the workshop made a presentation on group sharing where the participants were shared into groups to make presentation on Advocacy and the challenges they had so far.
Presenting a paper on Media Engagement, Mrs Esther Kozah from Kaduna State Media Corporation, emphasized the need to befriend the media, and engage them from the planning stage.
Other speakers at the workshop, were Stephen Obodo and Mairo Adamu who dwelt on Developing Personal Media Content and Experience Sharing: The veterans perspective respectively, whie Emmanuel Zwahu made a presentation on creative writing.
Earlier in her address of welcome, the Program officer, Halima Ibrahim enjoined the participants to brainstorm on all the presentations with a view to achieving the desired results.
The workshop ends on Thursday.
