Civic Space Resource Project: AMDF Signs Pact With West Africa Civil Society Institute Ghana

Africa Media Development Foundation, AMDF has signed a pact with the West Africa Civil Society Institute, WACSI, to implement a One- year programme under the Civic Space Resource Hub project being implemented in three West African countries, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal.

Under the program signed in the Ghanaian capital, Accra on behalf of AMDF by its Programme Manager, Mr. Benjamin Maigari, the Institute will provide support in four strategic areas from September 2022 to August 2023.

These are, Civic Space Protection, Organizational governance and Regulatory Compliance, Digital Security and Protection as well as Resource Mobilisation and Finance Resilience.

Also, AMDF will participate in all training programmes, Workshops and Convening organised virtually or physically in any of the targeted countries including Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal.
It will also develop an action plan based on the guidance of the CSR Hub, resource persons and within allocated time.

Speaking to AFRICA PRIME NEWS on arrival, Mr. Maigari described the pact as a great feat to AMDF which would also spur it to excel more.

Mr. Maigari was among few Nigerians to the capacity building workshop held recently in Accra, Ghana which was organized for CSOs on Civic Space across West Africa sub-region.

WACSI based in Ghana, is a civil society knowledge sharing hub and centre of learning with continental and international recognition.

It was established by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa in 2005.
