Date:

By Raine Golegio, Monrovia

Liberia’s Montserrado County Senator, Abraham Dillon on Monday discontinued interview on OK 99.5 popular morning show “OK Morning Rush” for refusal to abide by the nature of the program in words management.

During the interview early Monday morning, the host of the show, Clarence Jackson referred Senator Dillon to respond to claims made by Montserrado County Superintendent, Florence Brandy that his counterpart, Senator Saah Joseph is the only senator who has identified with the county during constraints.

Responding to the Superintendent’s claims, Senator Dillon repeatedly used “nonsense” on the show and when advised by the presenter, Clarence Jackson, the senator refused to live up to the nature of the platform, rather preferred to discontinue the entire interview.

The Montserrado County Senator action became a major point of discussion as some listeners deeply criticized him for what they termed as being “disgruntled” while others who might due to ignorance, supported the choice of words used by the senator.

However In the field of Journalism, the presenter of every radio program, protects the nature of his or her platform in order to have a fruitful discussion with guests and audience.

Therefore, it is ethically justified that the presenter, Clarence Jackson wasn’t in error to call the senator to order in usage of harsh words.
