About 400 Women and youths have been empowered through Small Medium Enterprise skills acquisition in Ikara and Kubau Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.
The 4-day training programme which was facilitated by Member Representing Ikara/ Kubau in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Ibrahim Hamisu Kubau was anchored by Center for Management Development (CMD) an agency of the Federal Goverment of Nigeria.
Youths from all over the Ikara/ Kubau Federal Constituency were trained in the production and marketing of soaps and associated products.
According to a statement released by Muktar Jindadi, an Aide to the Member said the lawmaker urged the beneficiaries to seize the opportunity to be self-employed and productive in life.
He said the skills acquired during the training would enable them to be self independent so as to achieve their own goals in life.
He assured the beneficiaries as well as the people in the Constituency of his commitment to capacity building and youth empowerment, promising that he will continue to explore every opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of his constituency .
At the end of the training all the beneficiaries where also supported with a capital of twenty five Thousand naira each as a startup.
The member of was accompanied by the All Progressive Congress ( APC) Chairmen of both Kubau and Ikara al government and others stakeholders of the party in the area.
