African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2023 governoship candidate for Abia State, Bishop Sunday Onuoha has vowed to deliver the dream of the founding fathers of the state if elected into the office.
Onuoha stated this when he visited the grand patron of Oganihu Ndi Abia, Chief Obinna Nwagara in Umuahia, the state capital in continuation of his consultation visits on his ambition.
“God will use me to achieve the dream of the founding fathers of our dear state. We need leaders with character. We’ re where we’re today because we’re being led by people with questionable characters.”
He said the level of decadence in the state had reached a point where the stakeholders and well meaning citizens like himself can no longer fold their arms and allow it to degenerate further.
“We have tried a businessman, a technocrat, and an academican, yet we haven’t achieved the dream. This time around, we need to try a clergyman, who will rule God’s own state with His fear and honesty.”
The president and founder of Vision Africa, who argued that he too is also a businessman, technocrat, and an academican, added that he has what the leaders don’t have “which is intergrity and character to protect.”
In his response, Nwagbara said he was as concerned about the level of retardation in the state as any other elder state’s man, especially when he sees and hears about the developments taking place in the neighbouring states.
The advertisement guru, who said the organization would partner any candidate or party that show sincerity of purpose in the drive to redeem the state added that: ” We need a revival, we need a new dispensation.”
Similarly, the chairman of the organization, Hon Ogechi Nnorom, associated the members “with the yearning of the generality of the people of the state for a change,” adding that God is mindful of the situation.
