A one-day Internal Gender Training for members of the Board of Commissioners and Senior Technicians of the National Elections Commission has ended in Monrovia.
The training was conducted by the National Elections Commission with support from UNDP, the Governments of Sweden and Ireland, UN Women and the Peace Building Fund.
According to a release, the one day training was held under theme: “Unpacking Gender in Elections”.
Speaking at the training, NEC Chairperson, Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah promised that the Commission will ensure that the issues of gender are given serious priority.
Speaking on behalf of the supporting partners, UNDP Electoral Support Office Chief Technical Advisor, Lenka Homolkova promised partners’ full support to the promotion of gender issues in electoral processes in Liberia.
