The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hawlaab Media Training and Research Centre (HMTRC), Abdulwaheed Olayinka Adubi, has advised the Ogun State Government, South West Nigeria, to address the lack of infrastructure in some schools in the state.

The Media expert and Advocate, gave the advise in a statement titled: “Ogun Public Schools In Shambles State Calls For Urgent State Intervention”.

Adubi who decried the poor state of the schools in the statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, noted with displeasure that in the 21st century, there is still record of students of Senior Secondary School (KSSS) writing promotional examinations on bare floors of classrooms.

“It is very painful, pitiful and unacceptable that any public school within Ogun state would remain in a condition that the students would have no option than to write promotional examinations on bare floors of classrooms. This is degrading to Ogun state and her citizens.

“Ogun state was not known for this in the past. Education is Ogun’s pride. Ogun state always set pace and that should be sustained,” Adubi lamented.

In the statement, the media expert commended the bravery nature of KSSS Alumni Association for keeping the public abreast on the conditions of schools in the state.

As garthered, it is also a known fact that the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area schools are also in poor state of school buildings and classrooms.

Adubi therefore urged the state government to as a matter of urgency, look into the poor conditions of public schools in the state.
