Liberia National Police Detain Officer Over Shooting, Killing

The Liberia National Police has disrobed and turned over an officer, James Togba alias”Opoku” of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU), for reportedly shooting two disadvantaged youths, leaving one dead and the other injured.

The deceased identified as Olando Karfu Bloh age 37, died upon arrival at the John F. Kenedy Memorial Hospital, while the injured youth, Water Fall is believed to be under-going medical treatment.

A press statement issued by the LNP on Tuesday states that the officer is presently detained at its National headquarters undergoing investigation.

According to police authorities, the alleged act by officer Opoku took place few hours after the Executive Protection Service disrobed and turned over for investigation, one of its Agents who reportedly shot to death a Liberian citizen in Paynesville City on Sunday Night.
