Over forty-five women drawn from three Counties in Liberia are expected to graduate from an intensive eight week Cook Stove training.
The counties are Bomi, Grand Cape Mount and Gbrapolu Counties.
The initiative was organized by Green Gold Liberia and the United Nations as part of efforts to empower women across the country.
In an interview monitored on state radio ELBC 99.9 FM, the General Manager of Green Gold Liberia, Morris Dougba added that the women from the three counties will be graduating during the weekend and will return to their respective Counties to empower themselves with the knowledge learned.
He furthered that the major aim and objective of the program is to build the capacities of the women and also for healthy environment as there is no smoke while using the stove to avoid future illness.
Speaking on behalf of the group of women, the Chairlady of Robertsport City, Sao G. Kromah appreciated Green Gold Liberia and UN for such meaningful initiative and promised to make proper use of cookstove as green gold will be given percentage for distributors in the various counties and stressed the importance of the stove.
