President Hakainde Hichilema on Monday led Other prominent Zambians to celebrate the life of Veteran Politician, Late Hon Sikota Wina at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross Lusaka.
The President said the freedom fighter was among the caring generation of forefathers who championed the peace and ensured unity in the country.
Hon. Wina was in the first Zambian cabinet at Independence and held numerous positions during his public life.
President Hichilema said thus, “This Monday morning we joined fellow mourners at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka to celebrate an illustrious life of veteran politician and freedom fighter, late Hon Sikota Wina.
“Hon Wina was in Zambia’s first cabinet at independence and held numerous positions during his public life
“We are grateful to God almighty for giving us such a wonderful and caring generation of forefathers who championed peace and ensured unity in the country.
“We shall forever remember Hon Wina and may his soul rest in eternal peace ” he concludes.
