President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia has held biletaral talks with his Kenyan counterpart , President Uhuru Kenyata in Nairobi.
The talks centred on trade and investment in areas of tourism and agriculture which Hakainde noted contribute significantly to Kenya’s economic growth.
The Zambian President stated this shortly after the talks with Uhuru at the State House in Nairobi.
“Fellow citizens.
We just concluded bilateral talks with our brother, President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya at State House, here in Nairobi.
“The discussions focused on trade and investment in potential areas of tourism and agriculture among others. As you might be aware, tourism alone contributes significantly to the Kenyan economy.
“Zambia and Kenya have many similarities which we intend to maximise on with the view of growing our economies.
‘With our brother, we stated that intra-Africa trade must be and is a priority. If we can trade among ourselves before looking elsewhere, the continent will develop.
“We expressed our gratitude to President Kenyatta for this invitation and granting us this opportunity to share our Zambian story and benefit from their wisdom.
“May God bless Zambia and Kenya.
“Asante sana!”.
