In an effort to enlighten members of the Armed Forces Of Liberial about the processes and importance of tax payment, the Taxpayer Services Division of the Liberia Revenue Authority has begun a four-day interactive tax awareness and education.
The initiative commenced on Wednesday with soldiers assigned at the Edward Beyan Kesselly Military Barracks in Margibi County.
According to the Liberia Revenue Authority, the tax engagement covers personal income tax and real property tax payment among others.
Speaking at the event, LRA Commissioner of Domestic Tax Department, Darlingston Y. Talery said the initiative is intended to ensure that everyone understands the processes and importance of tax payment to enable them prepare better to contribute to revenue growth and national development.
On his part, Col. Theophilus A. Dana of the 23rd Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Liberia encouraged the personnel to take interest in tax payment as it is important for the general development of Liberia.
He thanked the LRA for the initiative and called for an expansion of the tax education campaign to other AFL installations across the country.
