Saudi Arabian authorities have allocated 43,000 seats to Nigeria for the 2022 Hajj operations.
Executive Secretary of Kano state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Mohammad Abba Danbatta, announced this while briefing Journalists on the 2022 Hajj operations.
He said the National Hajj Commission ( NAHCON) has informed all the State Pilgrims Board on the recent development.
Mr. Danbatta explained that the slot was against the 95,000 seats allocation approved for the country in previous years.
“With the 43,000 allocation, NAHCON is expected to distribute the seats among the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory, FCT,” he said.
The Executive Secretary maintained that NAHCON was yet to announce this year’s hajj fares, stressing that soon the final hajj fares will be Announced.
”From all indications, there will be little increase on the Hajj fares compared to that of last year, Saudi Arabia has introduced the value-added tax in all monetary transactions, as such this increase will replicate on all hajj activities, ” he said.
Danbatta added that the Kano State Pilgrim’s Welfare Board will not relent in ensuring that the welfare of pilgrims was well attended to, aimed at ensuring a successful Hajj operations.
