Nigeria: Lagos Drivers Institute Enrols 145 LNSC For Mandatory Training

Date:

Joseph Edegbo :
In its effort to further improve driving skills and provide safety consciousness amongst professional drivers as well as the motoring public, the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI) has commenced mandatory training of 145 professional drivers in the employment of Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC).
Welcoming participants to the training held at the Institute Headquarters in Oshodi, the General Manager, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, said the mandatory training would ensure that professional drivers employed by the Lagos State Government are well trained and schooled in the art of good driving.
She urged professional drivers to key into the objectives of government for the transportation sectors as Lagos develops into a mega-city.
While advising participants to play their part in achieving zero-tolerance for road accidents in the State, the LASDRI Boss noted that professional drivers are expected to understand the driving rules and regulations guiding the environment in which they operate.
Tiamiyu was of the opinion that the training programme will offer them the opportunity to experience the best practice and expertise in driving, skills acquisition, traffic management control and enforcement.
She said learning in a classroom set-up will also provide a platform for identifying and discussing critical success factors with a view to proffering solutions that will improve traffic management and sanity on Lagos roads.
The General Manager, therefore, charged the seasoned trainers of the Institute to expose the participants to all the road signs, technicalities and etiquettes involved in the art of driving, while admonishing the trainees to key into the message as much as they needed to be a better driver
