Kidnappers have reportedly killed the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Lere Local Government Branch of Kaduna State, northwest Nigeria, Abubakar Abdullahi Dambardi.

A statement by State Chairman of the Association, Haruna Usman Tugga, says the abductors killed him in the early hours of Friday, in his hometown, Lere.

Mr. Tugga laments that the kidnappers demanded twenty million naira, but late Dambardi was able to borrow and provide two hundred and fifty thousand naira to them, but they were not satisfied and decided to kill him.

“They took him along Saminaka, Mari, Zango Highway and killed him there,” the statement says.

He appeals to Kaduna State Government and Security Agencies to investigate and fish out the culprits with immediate effect.

The State MACBAN Chairman describes late Mr. Dambardi as an ambassador of peace and tranquillity among the people of Lere Local Government and beyond.

“We have really lost a leader of high respect who has been assisting the association in promoting harmony and coexistence among members.”

MACBAN Kaduna State condoled the family, members and friends of late Dambardi and prayed Allah to grant him paradise and also give the family the fortitude to bear the loss, the statement concludes.
