The Colonel Doumbouya led Military Coup in Guinea says the ousted
President Alpha Conde has failed the people of guinea hence his overthrown.
The colonel who appeared on France24 said “the president is with us, he is in a safe place, he has seen a doctor and there is no problem”
Mr Mamady Doumbouya said the parliament is dissolved, and that all air route and land have been closed.
The military lamented widespread corruption, poverty, among others as the main reason for the coup, claiming that Conde failed the people of Guinea who voted him.
He said “our force hold the president, and the whole of conakry, we will put an end to the misfortune of guinea”
The United Nations stecretary General, Antonio Guterres, condemns the military take over .
He called for the immediate release of Mr Alpha conde.
The African Union and Economic community of west African states (ECOWAS) condemns the coup d’etat .
Mr Conde who is 83, won a third term re-election in October 2020 .
