The District head of Kufana in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Chief Titus Dauda has warned against any breach of peace before, during and after the September 4th Council polls.
Chief Dauda who gave the warning at a one-day stakeholders meeting with political parties, heads of security agencies, candidates, stakeholders and religious leaders in the local government, stressed the need for a peaceful conduct of the local government election .
He noted that the local government area is faced with a lot of security challenges and would not want people of the local government to cause any more security threat before, during and after the conduct of the elections.
Chief Dauda called on all candidates and political parties to shown bitterness and imbibe the spirit peace.
Heads of security agencies in attendance appreciated the District head for organizing the meeting which they said was the first of it’s kind in the LGA.
They resolved to provide adequate security and that they would not hesitate to arrest anyone found wanting or breaking the law no matter how highly placed.
On their part, representatives of the religious leaders said power is from God hence the need for all to accept the outcome of the elections.
They also called on youths to be peaceful and avoid being used as a tool to forment trouble.
Representatives of Adara development association, Adara youths congress and the Hausa/ Fulani communities observed with delight that all the candidates are indigines of the local government area and therefore called on all to eschew violence, vote peacefully and accept the outcome of the elections.
Also, party chairmen spoke on the need for peaceful coexistence before, during and after the conduct of the local government elections
Some party representatives who spoke of the need for a transparent election , called on party faithful to be peaceful during the process of the elections and should accept the outcome of the elections.
The candidates of the APC, Hon Cafra Caino and that of the PDP Hon Ibrahim Gajere assured the district head that they are all his wards assuring that they would not jeopardize security.
While agreeing to accept the outcome of the elections for the general development of the LGA, the candidates urged their supporters to be peaceful during the polls.
The stakeholders meeting was organized by the District Head and members of the traditional council.
