A Christian organisation, Throneroom Trust Ministry in Kafanchan, Kaduna state, northwest Nigeria, has donated relief materials to victims of attacks in Southern Kaduna camped at Mercy camp, Zonkwa.
Presenting the items comprising foodstuff and clothing, the Leader of the Ministry, Apostle Emmanuel Kure, said the move was to ameliorate the untold hardship victims of the crisis were passing through after the displacement in the wake of the attacks.
Represented by the International Administrator of the Ministry, Pastor Jonah Ambissa, Apostle Kure said the Ministry has also stationed a medical team in the camp, including doctors, nurses and pharmacists to attend to the medical needs of the displaced persons.
He expressed the hope that the items would be distributed to the target beneficiaries in view of the unpleasant situation they found themselves.
Responding, the Camp Coordinator, Reverend Gambo Waziri, who was represented by Mr David Nyat, expressed gratitude to the Ministry for the gesture.
He said the items will go a long way in providing succour to the displaced persons.
Reverend Gambo appealed for assistance in the area of toilet facilities to avert any outbreak of diseases.
In a remark on behalf of the Overseer Zangon Kataf Local Government, Mukhtar Abdullahi, the Deputy Director, Social Welfare, Mr Philip Moses Tachio, lamented over the insecurity in area.
While appreciating Throneroom Trust Ministry for the donation, he also appealed to public spirited individuals and organizations to augment government efforts at cushioning effects of the attacks on the people.
