“The Lagos Electricity Policy is vital to making Lagos State a 21st Century Economy – one of the goals of the T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda.

“It will serve as a key driver for the social and economic development aspirations of the State in line with the Government’s 30-year Development Plan (2021 – 2051) being developed,” he explained.

According to him, several efforts are currently underway to improve access to electricity in the State, including the Lagos Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), the retrofit of all streetlights to efficient LED bulbs as well as improving electricity supply to public health facilities.

Odusote also said, partnerships are in place to produce and provide locally-designed smart meters, through the Lagos Smart Hackathon, to low-income communities.
