The report for the Bill for an Act to establish Federal Medical Center, Billiri in Gombe is now set for third and final reading
The sponsor and member representing Balanga/ Billiri Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, Victor Mela Danzaria who disclosed this, said the House gave the green light during a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The Bill had earlier received a favourable report from the public hearing conducted by the committee on health institutions and subsequently, the House Committee of the Whole chaired by the Deputy Speaker on Wednesday which considered and approved all the 27 Clauses.
The Lawmaker assured his constituents of his commitment to providing qualitative health care services .
“You may recall that the House Committee on Health Institutions had on 20th May, 2021 submitted a favourable report to the House during plenary in favour of the establishment of the FMC, Billiri following the Public Hearing that was earlier conducted over the said subject-matter.
“I’m glad to report to you that yesterday, Wednesday 7th July, 2021, the House Committee of the Whole chaired by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, the Deputy Speaker, considered and approved all the 27 Clauses following a motion moved and seconded by my colleagues Hon. Amos Magaji (Zangon Kataf/Jaba Fed. Const., Kaduna State) and Hon. Lawan Shettima Ali (Busari/Geidam/Yunusari Fed. Const., Yobe State), respectively.
“I would like to assure you that we will continue to work hard to ensure that our densely and growing population in Southern Gombe have access to a strategically located tertiary health Institution that would provide qualitative health delivery services. Even more, our good neighbours from Adamawa, Taraba, Bauchi and Yobe States would immensely benefit from the proposed tertiary health facility”, he assured.
