The Bauchi State government on Saturday distributed 50 JACpick up vehicles it procured for security agencies to boost the fight against insecurity in the State, a statement by his Aide on New Media, Awal Mu’azu Bauchi has said.
Speaking during the ceremony held at the Government House Bauchi, Governor Bala said the vehicles procured by his Administration will assist security agencies to perform optimally.
He said the procurement of the vehicles is a testimony of his administration’s concern towards a holistic approach to security challenges in the State.
Governor Bala added that the vehicles were well equipped with communication gadgets and can access any part of the State. He said the protection of lives and property of the citizens isone of the cordial objectives of his administration, adding that, no societywill prosper with an increasing number of criminal activities.
Governor Bala appreciated the commitment of security agencies in the maintenance of peace in the stateand urged them to ensure judicious utilisation of the vehicles.
Also speaking, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali, represented by the AIG Federal Operations, Mr. Johnson Babatunde Kokumo expressed gratitude to Governor Bala for the gesture and described it as a good tool for enhancing operations for better service delivery.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mohammed Sabiu Baba and the Special Adviser on Security Matters, Marcus Yake appreciated the foresight of the Governor for providing the security agencies with the patrol vehicles.
The occasion had in attendance, the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt Honorable Abubakar Y Suleiman and his Deputy, Dallami Ahmed Kawule, State Chairman of PDP, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu among others.
