Nigeria Labour Congress Kaduna State Council has called on Christians to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ by showing love and forgiveness as they join their counterparts the world over to celebrate Easter. .
The Chairperson of the State Council, Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suleiman made the call in his Easter message commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suleiman Shaibu appealed to Christians to use the Easter period to pray for the end of kidnapping, armed banditry, killings and other forms of criminality in the state and the nation in general.
“Let’s also pray for peace, unity and development of Kaduna State and the country at large”, He said.
The Labour leader further emphasised the need for Christian faithful to continue to ensure peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious beliefs to forster unity .
“Follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by showing love, leaving peacefully with one another, be honesty in your dealings and lets also respect the sanctity and sacredness of human life” , he further advised.
Comrade Magaji Suleiman also enjoined people of the State, particularly workers, to imbibe those qualities and put them into practice irrespective of their denominational inclinations.
While wishing all Christians joyful and peaceful celebration, the Labour leader reminded them of the need to continue to reflect on the good teachings of Jesus Christ on forgiveness, love, sacrifice and tolerance now and after the festivity.
